Plain questions, with the page they came from

Find the daily reset time, guest and account options, streak freezes, and the difference between Daily and Competitive. Each answer points back to the public source list below.

Daylight runway illustration
The day resets at midnight in New York, not at midnight where you are sitting.
Seven-step climb illustration
Competitive is seven number questions at 15 seconds, not the daily 30.

For the long version of a round, use how to play. For the formula, use scoring. The short answers below are the ones people ask when they already know the gist.

Questions

When does Plain reset?

00:00 in New York. During daylight saving that is 04:00 UTC; otherwise 05:00 UTC. Everyone shares the puzzle.

How many rounds, and how long?

Seven rounds, 30 seconds each, about three minutes, on the how-to-play page.

Do I need an account?

No. Guests play with progress stored in the browser. You can register with a username and password, no email, or use Google. The 13+ requirement applies to creating an account.

What is a streak freeze?

Every seven finished days you earn one, and you can hold two. A missed day spends one automatically. The warning shows in the last three hours only if you have none. Freezes are not sold.

Can I replay yesterday for points?

No. The FAQ says past puzzles cannot be replayed for a score. The archive still shows targets and best answers.

Is there an unlimited mode?

Not on the about page as of 4 Nov 2026, which still says there is no endless feed. A creator reply on 3 Nov said one was coming. See the unlimited page.

What is Competitive?

A live one-to-one mode: seven number questions, 15 seconds each, account required. An earlier research snapshot of the creator’s Reddit reply described a bot after 15 seconds without an opponent; that detail has one source and is not stated on the current Competitive page.

Is there a phone app?

No native app on the FAQ. You can add the site to your home screen. See the app page.

Does the game cost money?

The FAQ says it is free. Ads, if shown, stay outside the round.

Why was my answer rejected?

Four reasons on the FAQ: not in the list, outside the category, only part of a name, or too many attempts in that round.

Who runs it?

The terms say Orinoco Invest GmbH. The impressum names Thomas Schweins as the representative, Düsseldorf HRB 88182. The about page says one person makes and runs the product. Both sentences are on the site. See our about page for how this guide relates.

Where do corrections to this guide go?

[email protected]. Corrections to the game itself go to the address on playplain.app/contact, which is a different inbox.
